Summer Reading

Come read with us during the Summer!

You can receive prizes for your reading, enter drawings and participate in fun activities and other events for the whole family.

Story Time

We meet every Wednesday during the school year at 11AM.

It’s designed for children 18 months to 5 years old. However, if you have younger ones they may also come along.

We enjoy books, poems, crafts, music and motion. We sometimes have visitors such as our own volunteer Fire Fighters to tell us about the important work they do for the community!

Research supports reading, singing, and rhyming as the best activities parents and caregivers can do with their young child to get them ready to learn how to read. We incorporate those things into every story time. We take this opportunity to give you tips on what you can do as well as model for you some of the fun ways to bring music and books alive.

***Nearly every week there is some type of snack. If your child has any food allergies, please let us know. We do not serve snacks with nuts of any kind during Story Time.

***We love to brag about our patrons and the fun things we do during Story Time. We often post pictures on our website or FB page so if you object to your child being included in the pictures, please let us know and we will honor that.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

If a child is going to grow into a truly wonderful adult – someone who thinks, considers other points of view, has an open mind, and possess the ability to discuss great ideas with other people – a love of reading is an essential foundation.

Sign your child up and pick up a folder at the library. It has everything you need to get started on your journey toward reading 1000 books. Even if your child wants to hear the same book again, and again, you can count it each time. You can also count the books your child hears in story hour, in daycare or preschool, or at home with a friend or family member, as long as your child listens to the entire book.

Each time you read 100 books, bring your reading record to the library to receive a special reward. It’s so much fun and so easy to do!
